Today was crazy with poor routes... We got walking directions that sent us through a military base of some sort where we met a man letting us know it was illegal to be there. He also said that all of the MP's would be off base for the day and he could pretend that he had not seen us. As you can imagine that made us feel pretty uncomfortable not knowing if we were going to run into any MP's and get escorted of the property. Anyhow we made it through and down the road we had to cross a bridge and go up a pretty steep hill with no shoulder (I MEAN NO SHOULDER). The locals call it the goat path and its pretty dangerous.

After all that I lost Joe and my phone was not working so I started to freak out. I was near tears because I didn't know how to find him. I stopped at a library to ask for directions and use the phone. When I went in I almost left the car running but then opted not to so I leaned in and pulled the key.... Leaving only the emergency break holding the car and trailer! When I came back out the car and trailer had rolled down a hill, the trailer had stopped the car by jackknifing. The car and trailer were so smashed together that I wasn't sure it would pull apart. The trailer has a small dent on the tool box and the car has a huge dent above the drivers side back tire :(
I can not believe I drove for 48 days with not one problem, no running out of gas, no flat tires, no nothing and then that happened... I was devastated!

THE PIC ABOVE IS THE BEAR MOUNTAIN BRIDGE WHICH IS WHERE I CROSSED THE HUDSON RIVER.IF YOU FOLLOW R6 AFTER THE BRIDGE LIKE WE DID THE LOCALS CALL IT THE GOAT PATH BECAUSE IT IS VERY NARROW THERE IS NO SHOULDER AND THERE IS ALOT OF TRAFFIC.THE WAY WE WENT WAS ALL STEEP UP HILL AS WELL.
